MyEG PHILIPPINES, INC. (MyEG PH), a market leader in electronic solutions championing government services online automation in partnership with IP Biotech, Inc. (IPB), a licensed importer of vaccines, and medical devices in the Philippines, and Family Vaccine and Specialty Clinics, Inc. (FVSC), one of the largest chain of vaccination clinics in the country that delivers quality health care services to Filipinos, announced today the introduction and the arrival this month of an at-home COVID-19 testing service for the Philippine market, a safe and non-invasive test method aimed at helping the country’s fight against the ongoing pandemic by accelerating and enhancing screening.
As the exclusive distributor of the VereRT ZeroPrep Covid 19 PCR Kit, MyEG PH through IPB and FVSC will be making the service – the first of its kind in the Philippine market, enabling home and on-site corporate collection of saliva samples by licensed medical professionals that are then sent to partner laboratories for processing and with test results delivered in 1-2 working days. The diagnostic kit is developed by Singapore-based biotechnology company Veredus Laboratories that specializes in developing portable diagnostic tool kit.
This saliva-based kit, which has received the approval of the Food and Drug Administration of the Philippines and has also been approved for use in Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand can also detect the new strains of Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) that has been reported in United Kingdom, South Africa, and Brazil.
MyEG is introducing this game-changing approach, where people can be tested either in the safety of their homes or in the confines of their workplace, which is more convenient, efficient,
and far less invasive than conventional methods without compromising accuracy, to enable more people to be tested, thus providing a timely and much-needed boost in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 that has seen available healthcare resources worldwide being increasingly stretched to their limits.
This new approach being introduced by MyEG will not only make testing much more accessible but will also ensure better protection for people and frontline healthcare providers by reducing the need for close contact since samples can be collected in the comforts and safety of home.
This fast, convenient and non-invasive method of testing can greatly enhance early accurate detection and subsequent early intervention, which would in turn be instrumental in containing the spread and impact of the COVID-19 virus. Making such a hassle-free approach to testing available to the public would be very much in line with the convenient, doorstep delivery of a myriad government and ancillary services that MyEG is already known for. Furthermore, this effort can help ease the pressure on the country’s frontline workers who have been working tirelessly in the past year.
In the wake of the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, MyEG has leveraged its strengths and expertise as a leading digital services provider in the region to embark on a number of significant initiatives, guided by a vision to provide a holistic solution to help in the fight against COVID-19.
