For many Filipinos, the daily commute is one of the most stressful and expensive parts of the day – an everyday reality that adds pressure to already tight budgets and growing responsibilities.

Starting June 1 at 8:00 AM, that journey becomes a little lighter.

Following the launch, Filipinos can enjoy free rides through “Hatid Pinoy: The Orange Ride” on select jeepneys and buses during peak hours – every Monday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM – running until June 30. The initiative will cover key routes including EDSA Monumento to PITX and Dahlia Fairview to TM Kalaw.

For commuters, this is immediate and practical support: a saved fare, a less stressful trip, and a bit more breathing room at the start and end of the week.

“For many Filipinos, commuting is a daily balancing act — managing time, cost, and competing responsibilities, while doing their best to provide for their families and plan for the future,” said Soon Liang Lau, President and Chief Executive Officer of FWD Philippines.

“This is why we created “Hatid Pinoy: The Orange Ride.” In Filipino culture, ‘hatid’ is an act of care — bringing someone where they need to go safely. In our own way, we want to do the same: help Filipinos get to where they need to be today, while also supporting them in getting closer to their financial goals,” added Lau.

This initiative goes beyond the ride itself. During the journey, commuters also receive simple Financial Confidence Booster cards: easy‑to‑understand guides that inspire them to plan and protect your future. Designed for everyday life, these tools help turn small moments into practical steps toward being more financially ready.

FWD believes financial confidence is built over time — through access to clear information, practical tools, and real opportunities. Through “Hatid Pinoy,” this comes to life in three ways: helping Filipinos build financial literacy through simple, everyday content; supporting them in protecting what matters through insurance; and creating opportunities that allow more Filipinos to earn, grow, and plan for their future.

At FWD, this reflects a broader commitment to changing the way people feel about insurance — by showing up in ways that are practical, human, and relevant to everyday life. Because when people feel supported and more in control of their finances, they are better able to move forward with confidence and truly celebrate living.

At its heart, “Hatid Pinoy” carries a simple idea: confidence is built in everyday moments. For many Filipinos, moving forward doesn’t happen in big leaps — but in showing up, getting through the day, and finding small, meaningful ways to get closer to a more secure future.

FWD Philippines began operations in 2014 with a commitment to changing the way people feel about insurance. In just a decade, it has grown into a leading insurer in the market, recognized for its strength in investment-linked offerings, and consistently ranking among the top players in both new business annual premium and total premium, while holding the #1 position in single premium. These milestones reflect the trust of Filipino families who continue to choose FWD to protect what matters most as it empowers more Filipinos to move forward with confidence.
