In honor of Women’s Month, Opulence Design Concept hosted “Women Who Rise: From Her Space to the World Stage” at the Greenbelt 5 showroom. The celebration brought together distinguished women in their particular fields to celebrate their achievements and contributions to society which included Ms. Celeste Cortesi, Miss Universe Philippines 2022 and Founder of Asul; Ms. Sheila Romero, Executive Chairperson of Global Port Terminals and Founder of I Want to Share Foundation; and Ms. Charisse Tinio, Co-Owner of Nice Print Photo. Their stories exemplify leadership, resilience, and the power of making a lasting impact.
During the event, the women shared inspiring insights on success and resilience. Sheila Romero emphasized the importance of mindset, passion, and perseverance, saying, “Stepping into a male-dominated world is about the willingness to step in, and if you love what you do, have the grit, and pray for guidance, you can make it.” Charisse Tinio highlighted the value of discipline and adaptability in achieving success, noting, “Never underestimate hard work—stay open to change, be consistent with your goals, and build meaningful relationships along the way.” Meanwhile, Celeste Cortesi reflected on turning challenges into opportunity, sharing, “I started Asul during a dark time, and from a team of one, we’ve grown into something bigger.” She also shared that adversity led her to a path she values most, her own business and brand.
The celebration also honored the story and achievements of Jonathan Adler, an internationally renowned potter and home décor icon. Adler’s journey of perseverance in the face of doubt mirrors the resilience of the remarkable women being celebrated. His bold, eye-catching designs bring personality and warmth to homes, serving as a lasting reminder of creativity, determination, and the enduring spirit behind his empire.
National President of the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID), IDr. Cecil Ravelas, curated the vignette at the Greenbelt 5 showroom, bringing to life Jonathan Adler’s signature blend of bold contrast and playful sophistication. “A striking palette of black and white, energized with confident red, allows a space to feel both grounded and expressive,” she shared, highlighting how graphic forms and sculptural pieces create visual rhythm while ensuring each element serves a purpose. She added that when styling one’s own space, it is important to find balance and own your design voice, allowing each piece to serve as both a functional element and a point of conversation.
