A helping hand from Marapara Rotary

The Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara extended a helping hand and brought some fun recently to several hundred families and children who were badly affected by Typhoon Odette in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

The Genaro Alvarez Elementary School was the venue for the ‘Sipalay Bayanihan’ – organized with the help of the Rotary Club of Calamba, Brentville Subdivision, the Rotaract Club of Marapara and various Sipalay City departments.

Essentials including medicines, food, footwear, school supplies, health and hygiene kits were distributed. To add some fun and relief from their recent ordeal, everyone was entertained with parlor and trivia games and all were given happy goodies.

“We are grateful for all the donors, partners in service, beneficiaries and volunteers who made a huge contribution to make this event a success,” said Marapara Rotary past president Trixie Villavicencio.
