McDonald’s Philippines and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines, in partnership with Megawide Foundation, celebrated the reopening of the refurbished Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Barangay Mambog IV, Bacoor City, reaffirming their shared commitment to early childhood education and community development.
The milestone is especially meaningful as the learning center marks its 15th year of service to children and families in the community. Originally turned over on June 10, 2011, the facility has helped generations of young learners build a strong educational foundation in a safe and nurturing environment.
The Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center refurbishment, made possible through the support of Megawide Construction and Megawide Foundation. Marking the Foundation’s first renovation project for a Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to providing children with a safe, nurturing, and conducive environment for early learning and development.
“For the past 15 years, this center has helped provide young learners with a strong foundation for their educational journey. As we reopen its doors, we are renewing our commitment to ensuring that future generations of children have access to safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environments,” said Kenneth S. Yang, President of RMHC Philippines.
RMHC Philippines has established 56 Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers nationwide, with each center serving approximately 90 to 100 children annually and helping prepare them for formal schooling.
Megawide Foundation commits to partnering with McDonald’s Philippines and RMHC in building more Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers in 2027.
“We believe that quality learning environments are essential to shaping a child’s future. We create spaces where children can learn and develop, knowing that every opportunity for their growth helps build brighter communities,” said Teresa C. Saavedra, President of Megawide Foundation.
Local government officials likewise emphasized the importance of supporting education through partnerships.
“Naniniwala tayo na ang kinabukasan ng kabataan ay nakasalalay sa edukasyon. Maraming salamat sa McDonald’s at Megawide Foundation sa inyong suporta. Malaking tulong ito sa ating mga kabataan at sa kanilang kinabukasan,” said Bacoor City Mayor Strike Revilla.
Beyond providing classrooms, the Bahay Bulilit Learning Center serves as a space where children can develop foundational literacy, social, and life skills that help prepare them for lifelong learning.
As children head back to school, the reopening of the Bacoor Bahay Bulilit Learning Center stands as a testament to what can be achieved when the private sector, local government, and community partners work together to create brighter futures for Filipino children.
