At its first Organizational Meeting immediately following its recent annual stockholders meeting, the Board of Directors of Globe Telecom Inc. announced the appointment of  Cezar “Bong” Consing as Chairman, following Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala (JAZA), who stepped down after decades of robust leadership.  Jaza continues to stay on as Chairman of AsiaCom Philippines, Inc., the joint venture company of Ayala Corporation and Singtel.

“We welcome with pride the appointment of Bong Consing as Chairman of Globe Telecom,” said Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Chairman of Ayala Corporation. “Bong has long been a valued leader within the Ayala Group and has demonstrated clarity of judgment, discipline in execution, and a deep commitment to strengthening the institutions he serves. With his leadership, we are confident Globe will continue to build on its strong foundations and play an even greater role in enabling opportunity, progress, and inclusion in the years ahead.”

Consing brings decades of experience in finance and global markets. Prior to leading Ayala Corporation, he served as President and CEO of Bank of the Philippine Islands from 2013 to 2021, guiding the institution through a period of sustained growth and transformation. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly two decades with J.P. Morgan, where he held senior leadership roles across Asia Pacific investment banking, including serving as President of J.P. Morgan Securities Asia. He also served as partner and co-head for Asia of The Rohatyn Group.

He currently serves as Chairman of ACEN Corporation and as Vice Chairman of Bank of the Philippine Islands and Ayala Land, Inc. He also holds leadership roles across several Ayala Group companies and remains active in key business and civic institutions.

Under this new leadership, Globe will continue to strengthen its role as a trusted partner in connectivity, innovation, and digital enablement, supporting Filipinos and businesses in an increasingly digital economy.
