AirAsia Philippines expects holiday bookings to peak ahead of All Saints’ and All Souls Day

AirAsia Philippines has seen an uptick in bookings for both domestic and international travel ahead of the upcoming holiday season. This increase is attributed to guests planning ahead and securing their travel early to save more and avoid any last-minute hassles.

For the travel period from October 30 to November 3, AirAsia Philippines has already recorded more than 50,000 seats sold, with numbers expected to rise further in the coming week. The top destinations include a mix of domestic and international locations: (1) Boracay, (2) Cebu, (3) Taipei, (4) Bohol, (5) Tacloban, (6) Puerto Princesa, (7) Incheon, (8) Narita, (9) IloIlo, and (10) Bangkok.

“While the season is traditionally observed to commemorate departed loved ones, we’ve seen that some guests visit early, allowing them to use the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day holidays for leisure travel. Based on our top 10 routes, beach destinations remain a favorite for domestic travelers, while countries that offer a mix of shopping, food, and cultural experiences continue to excite our international guests,” AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head First Officer Steve Dailisan shares.

With most trips during this period lasting only 3 to 5 days, AirAsia Philippines is giving tips to help guests maximize their holiday travel:

1. Pack smart, travel smart. AirAsia Philippines existing baggage policy allows a hand carry of only 7 KG which could be a combination of a small luggage or backpack and a hand or sling bag. If you intend to bring home gifts from your travel, it is advisable that you upgrade your check-in baggage depending on your needs (AirAsia baggage are upgradeable up to 60 KG). Also take note of the list of prohibited items so you won’t have to go over your luggage during check-in procedures.

2. Plan your travels ahead. AirAsia Philippines offers a flexible flight schedule for most of the destinations so choose one that will fit your schedule. For international travel, consider taking red eye flights which are much cheaper than the usual. Also, adjust your travel schedule. Never fly out on the day of the holiday and return on the same schedule where everyone else is expected to fly back to Manila to avoid heavy traffic brought about by the exodus of travelers to Manila.

3. Go for the bundle. Flights, hotel accommodations, and activities are cheaper when bundled via the AirAsia MOVE App. With more than 40,000 hotel partners in over 200 locations across Asia, you are guaranteed to find something that fits your budget and will give you huge savings.

“To accommodate the influx of holiday travelers, we have also increased our manpower at NAIA Terminals 2 and 3. We will always be committed to fulfill our brand promise of reaching guests safely and on time,” Dailisan added.

To excite more guests to travel, AirAsia Philippines is giving away free flights, hotel vouchers, and AirAsia points with LFG AirAsia Blowout! Flights booked from 1 October to 29 November which will be registered via the AirAsia MOVE app will be converted to a raffle entry.
