More Filipinos are becoming increasingly conscious of their wellbeing, emphasizing holistic wellness and prioritizing self-care. It is also much more evident that Filipinos are now heartily participating in physical activities, proving the studies that found its positive impact on mental health.
There are more running events, group biking activities, friendly sporting competitions, and similar pursuits in the metro areas and nearby provinces year-round, following a significant growth in the wellness industry between 2020 and 2022.
Recognizing this prime opportunity for Filipinos, Singapore-based Jal Yoga inaugurated its first-ever state-of-the-art studio in the Philippines on August 8. Present in the opening are the founders Pardeep Fogat and Jasmine Loh.
“Jal means water in Hindi,” said Mr. Fogat, an accredited yogi. “Like the water that adapts to any form, flows to the deepest depths, and traverses the greatest of heights, we aim to guide anyone who walks through our doors in their journey towards wellness and to live more with Jal.”
Established in 2018, Jal Yoga started at two locations in Singapore with the aim to provide practitioners with expansive offerings of Yoga, Pilates, and Barre.
Since then, the passionate and driven founders expanded Jal Yoga’s footprint to several countries in Southeast and West Asia: four additional studios in Singapore, three in Malaysia, one each in Indonesia and Dubai and the most recent here in the Philippines.
Located at the ground floor of One Trium Tower in Alabang, Muntinlupa, the Jal Yoga studio offers bespoke classes, infrared technology, expert instructors, and focus on holistic wellness.
“The studio is equipped with state-of-the-art infrared heat panels for the perfect and comfortable temperature to conduct the various Yoga, Pilates and Barre classes,” said Ms. Loh. “The infrared panels radiate therapeutic infrared rays which help with weight loss, blood circulation, improve skin and hair, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.”
Jal Yoga has various yoga classes suitable for all levels of practitioners, like Infra Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Kinetic Yoga, and Aerial Yoga. Its Barre classes help participants towards a lean and toned physique using their own body weight while the Pilates classes focus on improving overall strength, balance, mobility, and well-being.
“No matter the age, fitness background, or body type, we invite you to try Yoga, Barre, or Pilates. Our infrared technology makes it easier for newcomers to be more comfortable in doing the exercises. After a session or two, you’ll immediately feel the difference,” said Mr. Fogat.
