Duty Free shopping is the latest and most welcome addition to Clark Pampanga’s many attractions as state owned Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC) recently opened two stores in the region. Travelers and tourists can now enjoy their Duty Free shopping privilege at the Terminal 2 of Clark’s world class international airport and at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort, one of the north’s popular staycation destination.
The Duty Free stores carry the usual selection of the highly in demand categories ranging from chocolates and confectioneries, wines and liquor, perfumes and beauty products as well as local goods preferred by foreign tourists. To cater to Hilton Hotel guests’ refined taste, the Duty Free store added Keleo’s fine jewelries to its merchandise mix.
The establishment of Duty Free stores at Clark is DFPC’s way of contributing to the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) efforts to transform this region into a premier business and tourism hub. Moreover, this is in line with DFPC’s mandate to cater to the shopping needs of the international travelers, whose numbers are on the rise now that Clark is positioned as a modern aerotropolis, preferred MICE (Meetings, lncentives, Conferences, Exhibits) destination as well as an ideal destination for sports tourism in the Asia-Pacific.
DFPC is currently expanding its operations to recapture the market and regain its pre-pandemic state. The state owned agency recently introduced a new logo and its “Only the Best” tagline to enhance awareness of DFPC’s offerings. All these efforts are geared to ensure that DFPC continues to contribute to government’s tourism efforts being an attached agency of the DOT.
