One of the country’s top advertising recognitions, the KidlatAwards, is now open for entries after the announcement of its much-awaited return on November 26.
Kidlat Awards, the annual creative show of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As), is making its comeback after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic. This year, the award is going all-digital for the first time, with the submission of entries, judging, and even the awards night all transitioning online.
“We are so excited to bring you this year’s Kidlat Awards,” Russ Molina, Chief Creative Officer of Seven A.D. and KidlatAwards Committee Chair said. “Not only will we come together to celebrate the best work from various agencies in the country, but we are feteing the people behind it, people who embody creativity in every sense. People who did not allow a pandemic to limit them but instead used it as a jumping board to create inspiring work that challenged us and dared us to think of something greater.”
Kidlat Awards is open to all agencies based in the Philippines, including creative and digital agencies, production houses, media, public relations, and design shops. Entries that have first aired, gone live, been posted online, or made available for public download between February 1, 2019 to February 28, 2021 are eligible to be entered at the 2021 Kidlat Awards. The deadline of entries will be on October 27.
There are five main categories: Creative Effectiveness, Creative Technology and Media, Creative Storytelling, Creative Purpose, and Craft. Aside from recognizing the work in the aforementioned five categories, Special Awards will also be given. The Grand Kidlat, Kidlat Sinag, Kidlat Agency of the Year, Kidlat Advertiser of the Year, Kidlat Audio Production House of the Year, and Kidlat Film Production House of the Year will also be handed out to the most deserving organizations.
“This year’s Kidlat Awards aims to honor, recognize, and celebrate the work that many of our colleagues in the industry undertook in the past two years. We are bringing together a venerable list of both international and local judges to evaluate and pick the most deserving winners in each category. In this year’s Kidlat Awards, it’s all about creativity and how we have unlocked it and used it to create the most excellent material amid such hard and difficult times,” Molina said.
