In May, Twitter introduced their tipping feature to a small group of people in the U.S., allowing them to add a button at the top of their profile where they could link to their CashApp, Patreon, etc. It created a fixed spot where people could see a range of ways to support them.
They want everyone on Twitter to have access to pathways to get paid. So, today, Tips – the first of a series of features they’ve launched this year to create more ways for people on Twitter to support each other and make money – is also the first monetary feature they’re making available to everyone. They’ll start rolling it out to people on iOS today and bring it to people on Android in the coming weeks.

As they expand who can send and receive tips, they’re also expanding how people can tip. For the first time, people can receive Bitcoin tips by adding their Bitcoin address or their Strike account. And GoFundMe and PicPay, a Brazilian payments service, will now be available in Tips.
