As part of its commitment to modernize education and support 21st-century learning in the area, the City Government of Muntinlupa and the Schools Division Office (SDO) of the Department of Education (DepEd) have partnered with PLDT Enterprise to deliver reliable internet connectivity across the city’s 29 public schools.

The initiative forms a key component of SDO Muntinlupa’s DUNONG Program, which aims to elevate educator excellence through strengthened support for teachers and streamline school operations by reducing teachers’ administrative workload. This is enabled by the use of digital tools that improve efficiency and learning outcomes.

With PLDT Enterprise solutions now deployed, SDO Muntinlupa is preparing to roll out digital systems that automate tasks such as attendance reporting, grade encoding, school communications, and compliance submissions. These processes previously required hours or even days to complete. By minimizing manual work, teachers can devote more time to lesson planning, student support, and effective classroom instruction, reinforcing the city’s commitment to empowering its education workforce.

The partnership includes Enterprise Broadband, structured cabling with access points, and PLDT Satellite Internet via Starlink. Enterprise Broadband ensures uninterrupted access to DepEd systems and online platforms and supports virtual learning and cloud-based tools. Structured cabling with access points provides campus-wide Wi-Fi and enables seamless connectivity for teachers, staff, and students. PLDT Satellite Internet via Starlink addresses connectivity gaps in underserved locations and guarantees continuous access to DepEd platforms and online learning resources. Together, these solutions reinforce data security, streamline school operations, and enhance service delivery throughout Muntinlupa’s public education network.

The impact of the program is already being felt across the community. More than 25,000 students and faculty members now have stable access to digital learning platforms. Administrative reports that used to take three to five days to complete can now be generated in real time, significantly speeding up compliance with DepEd requirements. At least 300 school administrators and staff are also undergoing training on new ICT systems. The program accelerates Muntinlupa’s long-term goal of building future-ready, digitally empowered schools aligned with national education priorities, positioning the city as a model for smart education governance.

“Reliable connectivity is now a basic requirement for learning. By partnering with PLDT Enterprise, we are investing in the future of our students and strengthening the support system for our teachers,” said Hon. Rozzano Rufino Biazon, City Mayor of Muntinlupa. “This initiative allows us to modernize learning environments and enhance the effectiveness of our educators, ensuring that Muntinlupa continues to be a leader in innovative and inclusive public service.”

From PLDT Enterprise, Ruby Montoya, Vice President and Head of Enterprise Revenue Group, said, “We are honored to support Muntinlupa City and SDO Muntinlupa in their journey toward digital transformation. By providing secure, reliable, and future-ready connectivity, we aim to help empower teachers, streamline governance, and create a more inclusive learning environment. This aligns with our commitment to enable institutions to thrive through meaningful innovation.”

The partnership not only addresses immediate challenges but also supports the city’s long-term education and governance goals, including reducing non-teaching workload, improving reporting efficiency, enhancing decision-making, and strengthening transparency and accountability. It also establishes a resilient ICT infrastructure that enables continuous improvement and prepares the city for future innovations.

PLDT Enterprise further reinforces sustainability through energy-efficient ICT systems and responsible e-waste management, supporting Muntinlupa’s environmental objectives.
