As the nation celebrated National Teachers’ Month (NTM) from September 5 to October 5, Globe joined in honoring Filipino educators for their invaluable role in shaping the minds and values of future generations. This annual celebration recognizes teachers’ vital contributions to nation-building and community development.

The National Teachers’ Month (NTM) celebration was led by the Department of Education (DepEd), Metrobank Foundation Inc. and multi-sectoral partners including Globe. It culminated on October 5, officially recognized as National Teachers’ Day under Republic Act 10743. This year’s theme, “My Teacher, My Hero,” was celebrated nationwide and capped by a culminating event on October 6, 2025 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, graced by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as Guest of Honor.

In line with the celebration, Globe, together with DepEd, Metrobank Foundation Inc., and the National Teachers’ Month Coordinating Council (NTMCC), paid tribute to educators’ unwavering service and dedication through its advocacy theme “Together 4 Teachers.” The company reaffirmed its commitment to advancing digital learning and teacher empowerment by helping educators harness technology as a catalyst for transformative education.

What began as a private sector-led initiative in 2008 has evolved into a nationwide movement uniting government, businesses, and civil society. This year, 68 organizations joined forces across more than 100 initiatives, from recognition programs to capacity-building projects, all underscoring the nation’s collective appreciation for teachers.

Globe was also recognized at the 44th NTM Coordination Meeting for its long-standing partnership and consistent support for the teaching community. The citation was presented by Department of Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara; then Metrobank Foundation President (now Trustee) Aniceto Sobrepeña; and then Executive Vice President (now President) Philip Dy, and was received by Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.

“Teachers are among the most powerful agents of change in our society. Through their dedication and care, they mold the minds and values of the next generation,” said Yoly Crisanto. “Globe is proud to stand alongside the Department of Education and our partners in recognizing their impact, while providing the digital tools and connectivity that help them continue inspiring and empowering learners across the country.”

Globe’s flagship digital citizenship and online safety program continues to be rolled out to schools nationwide, empowering teachers to champion responsible digital use in the classroom. Through the Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP), educators are equipped with modules on media and information literacy, responsible online behavior, and digital wellness, enabling them to guide students toward safer and more mindful digital habits. Since 2016, DTP has reached close to 2M students and over 115,000 teachers. Complementing this, the MakeITSafe.ph website offers ready-to-use resources for teachers and parents to reinforce online safety at home and in school.

By empowering educators with connectivity, digital skills, and innovative learning tools, Globe continues to champion teacher development and digital inclusion, helping Filipino educators guide students toward a future built on learning, innovation, and compassion.
