On Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, runners of all levels joined and gave their best to run their fastest mile at Under Armour’s All Out Mile event at the PhilSports Arena (formerly Ultra).
From beginners to intermediate and elite runners, participants came together for the first time at the track oval after Under Armour’s virtual initiative last year. Recognizing the value and benefits of running, Under Armour continues to highlight the sport and encourage runners to always finish strong. This year’s event transcended 1,609 meters with both newcomers and running enthusiasts spreading grit, sweat, and love as a community.
Highlights of the successful event included the course, as it was the first time to run around a real track oval for a majority of the participants. Many appreciated the new experience and focused solely on the run without any distractions. Beginners mentioned the continuity of the oval drove them to run harder, testing their limits to fulfill their fastest times of the year.
The winners of the All Out Mile were split into three different categories: Fastest Male, Fastest Female, and Fastest Group with the cash prizes of ₱10,000.00 for the individuals and ₱25,000.00 for the group. The winning participants were Michael Comaling (Fastest Male) with a time of 4 minutes and 51 seconds, Tess Jones (Fastest Female) with a time of 6 minutes and 4 seconds, and Team Gas Coaching (Fastest Group) with an average time of 5 minutes and 25 seconds.
Despite the commitment and determination of each runner leading up to and on the day, all participants left Under Armour’s All Out Mile grateful for a different experience, achieving their goals with a handful of new friends who share a common passion for the sport.
