Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) was just awarded the 2022 Great Place to Work certification from the global authority on workplace culture.
“Our workforce has helped provide affordable nutrition to Filipino families throughout this difficult pandemic, and we are happy to see that they feel taken care of just as they help us take care of others,” said AMC Managing Director Tarang Gupta.
In Great Place to Work’s employee engagement survey, AMC rated 21% higher than a typical global company. 84% of employees across all departments also said they are proud to tell people they work at AMC. Currently, over 800 Filipinos are employed by AMC.
79% of AMC employees also shared that they felt their work had special meaning. “It’s important for us to create a culture where employees understand their role in nourishing Filipino families,” said People and Culture Director Lyn Hadjula-Legarde.
AMC’s purpose has been to nourish Filipino dreams with accessible nutrition. In recent years, they’ve committed to keeping their products affordable for Filipino families. Still, they have also been an active and reliable partner of government in nation-building through their Corporate Purpose Responsibility (CPR) program called AlasKaunlaran, a wordplay between “Alaska” and “Kaunlaran or development,” AMC’s purpose-in-action and a gateway towards the nourishment of children, development of Micro-Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), women, dairy farmers, and the protection of the environment.
To celebrate this certification and show gratitude to all the employees, AMC organized a 4-day Filipino fiesta-themed celebration with free Filipino street food for everyone in their Makati office and San Pedro, Laguna manufacturing plant. As #GPTWcertified, AMC joins only seven other Filipino manufacturing and production companies certified as a Great Place to Work.
